How has the school faced the distance education suggested by the Ministry of Education in these times of health crisis? 

We have installed a distance learning and training system, from a weekly structure that includes virtual classes in real time through professional Zoom accounts so as not to have a limited time limit for these meetings; in addition, it will have a Virtual Classroom from the Moodle platform, which each student accesses with their own username and password. It is a system that is not only built with the foundations of our educational project, but also by collecting all the indications of the respective educational authorities.

 

What financial considerations has the school had with families in these times of quarantine?

 Understanding the various financial situations of our families, the school has made the decision to make differentiated reductions by cycles in the monthly payments from April to August, in addition to freezing the value of tuition and tuition for the year 2021. Notwithstanding the above, we have installed a procedure that addresses the individual situations of those families whose situation is not significantly resolved by general considerations. We have exhausted all possible resources to go in support of our families.

 

What percentage of students enter university?

The percentage of students who enter universities varies each year; however, about 75% of the generation of the immediately previous year enters the university system during the following year. This percentage is closely related to the level of grades obtained by our students during their secondary education process.

 

How is the teaching of the English language and bilingualism approached in our school?

In addition to bilingualism in various subjects from Playgroup to 4th grade, the development of English language learning is addressed from three projects: English: from Playgroup to fourth grade. The teaching of the English language is approached from the communicative perspective, where linguistic skills are developed: Speaking, Listening, Reading y Writingbased on the Common European Framework CEFR, which indicates the grammatical structures, vocabulary and functions necessary for the acquisition of a second language Literacy: From Playgroup to 4th grade. Knowledge of the English alphabetic code is built, in addition to reading and writing skills, basic components for literacy and the development of reading comprehension. This through the methodology calledSynthetic Phonics methodology.”. Cambridge Young Learners: From 1st grade to 4th grade. The productive skills of writing, orality and the receptive skills of reading and listening comprehension are expanded. At the same time, strategies related to the standards that are evaluated in the international exams called Cambridge Young Learners: Starters and Movers are developed. All of the above is complemented with technological tools called Cambridge Young Learners: Starters y Movers-all of the above is complemented with technological tools called i- Tools, which are ICT resources that support the learning process, in addition to having an external advisor in English.

Our school, being faithful to our educational project, is linked to the following institutions: Cambridge University Press: ertification and alliance, as an educational ally for our commitment to the quality of teaching in the English language; in addition to sharing ethical, educational and socio-environmental principles. Codeff: faithful to our environmental values, we are the first school certified by Codeff as Guardians of the native flora and fauna of Chile. Fundación Vivienda: our school supports families looking to build or improve their homes. Such support is from the affective bond and in the realization of various activities to gather funds for such improvements, ending with the construction of their houses by various actors of the community; students, teachers and parents. Friends for a Dream Foundation: for each year, our third grade students lead the campaign to support this foundation; which helps families who have a child with cancer.

 

Does the school have integration programs?

Our school promotes an inclusive education that caters to different learning styles and rhythms. We respect and welcome diversity in the person; however, we do not have School Integration Projects (PIE) under the terms established by Decree 170/2009.
